The Season of The Red Spider Lily

During equinotical week red spider lilies are ready to bloom. It is called “Manjushage” or “Higanbana” in Japanese which also means “the flower of heaven”. At the end of September, the Asuka area is decorated by these gorgeous red flowers.

For the red blooming flowers and the shining golden rice paddy fields under the clear blue sky, many people visit Asuka this time of year. There are exciting events such as the Lighting up show “Hikarino Kairo”, “Scarecrow Festival” etc. Locals are also looking forward to having the most charming season of the year.
